Getting Into Character: Play Series: II
Advertising
“And the Tide Shall Cover the Earth”, the first ever fall play, is underway. This means late hours at school for rehearsals, getting into character, and finally- opening night. But in order to get to the final production, the actors must rehearse to get into their character and make the production reach its highest potential.

To learn more about what getting into character means for the actors, I talked to Kim Peterson, an actress in the play, about what she has to do to get into character. “Well, I play a little girl in the play, so when I hang around my little cousins, I notice their body language and how they act and apply that to my character.”

Getting into character isn’t the only thing that happens at rehearsals. Much of the cast from this play also participated in the spring musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, last year. This fall play is like a reunion for some of them. “It’s great to be back with a lot of the cast, we have so much fun together,” Kim said.

The cast is working hard to match the high expectations that our school has for the Fine Arts Program.
