The student presidents have a lot planned for the school this year. Our school presidents are, 9th grade Panio Zhivkov, 10th grade Ivan Zhivkov, 11th grade Saliym Lanzot and 12th grade Quaneysia Scott Bland.

Student president is holding a lot of responsibility, time and dedication to your school.

“I’m keeping seniors updated and trying to raise money for our senior Class of 2009,” said Senior President Quaneysia Scott-Bland.

“I’m working on establishing our schools first National Honors Society in order for those students who had worked their hardest academically can receive recognition,” said Bland.

The senior class had the I.D tag voted as their uniform and junior president Saliym Lanzot is trying to accomplish the same thing.

“I am trying to get I.D tags for everybody not just seniors, makes our school look unique from other schools,” said Lanzlot.

The Coordinator of Student Affairs for two years, Ms.  Kyong Pak,  has helped the presidents in many ways; on fun raisers, talking to administration and having promotions and ideas.

“I think they’re all doing a good job, very responsible, well working with other classmates and very enthusiastic,” said Pak.

Bland said she is also working on new fundraising ideas this year and is honored to be class president. Seniors have many dues and need to come up with more fun raisers.

The tenth grade Class President, Ivan Zhivkov, has many plans in mind.

“I want for more school trips, school dancing and school activities,” said Ivan.

The original ninth grade Class President, Elaine Anderson, moved to amoved to Arizona.

While most students are happy with their class officers, not everyone thinks positively about their representatives.

“Yes, I did vote for him [Ivan], but I don’t know what he has done yet as a president,” said sophomore Shantal  Stewart. “I would like to be treasure or maybe class representative someday,” Stewart said.

Panio Zhivkov now president of the 9th grade feels like he has power.                                                                                    “I feel like I have more power in making decisions into and for the school,” said Panio.

Panio has plans for the future.  He plans on having bake sales and fundrasiers to raise money for trips.

“The money will be use maybe for trips, and making fun activities for freshman”, said Panio.

Uniform is also an issue not just for upperclassmen but also freshman.

“Uniform, I personally think we shouldn’t wear it because we will feel more confident without uniform,” said Panio. “When feeling confident, you do better in school.”
