Spencer's doll is twisted up in the book cover -
Pretty Little Liars is back with a fresh new storyline and crazy drama.
Sara Shepard’s ninth installment, Twisted, starts about a year after the fire in the Poconos, which brought the Alison DiLaurentis mystery to an end.
On a summer vacation to Jamaica, Emily, Spencer, Hanna, and Aria did another unforgivable thing. It pushed the girls farther apart then they ever were.
Emily, Spencer, Hanna, and Aria are older, but they’re definitely not any wiser. They have juicy secrets that could potentially destroy their new lives.
After taking a small breather, Emily is back in swimming. But a two-month breather is an eternity in competitive swimming, especially around scholarship season. Now she’s left with no scholarship, and she has no money to pay for college. But Emily would do anything for a scholarship.
It had taken Spencer a huge effort to get back to the top of her class, but she has done it and secured a spot in Princeton at the same time. Now her mom is getting remarried, and Spencer’s getting a little too comfortable with her soon-to-be stepbrother.
Hanna is going strong with her longtime boyfriend Mike, and her father is running for Senator. But some of Hanna’s scandalous photos are threatening to go public and could destroy her relationship with her father.
Aria’s rocky love life has finally smoothed out, and she’s dating Noel Kahn. Things were going great until the Kahn family fosters a beautiful exchange student. Now, Aria’s jealously issues are starting to push Noel away and maybe even ruin their relationship.
And just when they thought it was all over, the girls start receiving anonymous texts and notes from someone claiming to be A. Is this the real deal or just another imposter?
This is arguably the best book in the Series yet. I found it to be a bit confusing at first, because like the Jenna Thing, Shepard didn’t come out and tell you exactly what the girls did. But as the book went on, it became easier to piece it together.
Trying to put down Twisted was difficult; I even finished it in less than four hours. So many twists and turns will have readers hanging on until the last page.
Some people were complaining about the novel, saying that Shepard was ruining the storyline by dragging it out for too long. Some reviews even called it predictable, calling the plot is ridiculous. For die-hard PLL fans, just know that Twisted does not disappoint.
The next book, Ruthless, is dropping in December, so be sure you’re all caught up with the girls’ crazy drama before it drops in bookstores everywhere.
