I recently watched the newly released film Apollo 18. Frankly I was not impressed with this movie. There were several qualities about Apollo 18 that were quite disappointing.
To begin with, the acting was quite poor, with each scene lacking in the serious emotion needed in a movie of the horror genre. The actors seemed to lack fear or realization of the constant peril that they were facing. Secondly, the filming technique was quite appalling. It is yet another film to use the "home video camera" perspective style. It is a technique that is becoming increasingly overused. Not to mention the constant pauses in the video where the "cameras" would skip or the recording had become "damaged" by the aliens. These pauses and skips at times would last as long as five minutes, even becoming silent. Five minutes of looking at a silent, black screen becomes boring and repetitive.
In conclusion, Apollo 18 is one of the worst films I have ever seen. I was not impressed with the poor acting and even worse filming techniques used. I give this movie an "A" for appalling and wouldn't recommend watching it to anyone.
