After watching the finale of my favorite show, "Pretty Little Liars," the only word I could come up with is disappointment. I was left with an empty feeling I did not expect.

This summer, "Pretty Little Liars" ranked as basic cable’s Number one scripted series among viewers ages 12 to 34. Many of my friends love the show; there are plenty of "PLL Parties" that take place on Tuesday nights. I sometimes wonder whether this is to share the fun of watching with your peers, or to feel comforted throughout the consistently eerie hour.

One of the things about the show that keeps viewers so interested is the impeccable use of suspense. The show sparks question after question in my mind, and I spend my entire week trying to fill in the gaps.

"Who killed Ali?" "Who is A?" "Are Ali’s killer and A the same person?" "Are Ali and A the same person?" It becomes a fun guessing game.

However, the drawback to that aspect is you’re always left guessing. It’s almost as if the show refuses to give you the answers you want, but continually gives you new information that only makes you ask more questions.

After the long anticipated season three finale, I expected to finally get those answers. However, the cleverly-planned cliffhanger at the end left me with as much suspense as ever, except this time there is no episode next week. Or the next week. Viewers are left hanging for months until the next season starts.

Considering that this isn’t the last episode that will ever be made, I am fully confident that my questions will be answered by the final episode of the last season but I don’t think it’s a smart decision on behalf of the producers and writers to make viewers wait that long.

I thought season finales were supposed to end leaving you fulfilled, satisfied. I was only disappointed.
