You may know the popular TV-show Pretty Little Liars seen on ABC Family, but did you know about the book series?

The Pretty Little Liars series was written by Sara Shepard. It is about four girls, Spencer, Emily, Aria, and Hanna, whose best friend, Alison DiLaurentis, was murdered. The girls forget about Alison and continue their lives until three years later when they start receiving threatening text messages from someone identifying themselves as “A.”  A threatens to reveal the girls’ secrets – secrets that they thought only Alison knew! Is Alison back from the dead? Or is someone messing with them?

Like most movies or shows based off of books, Pretty Little Liars is slightly different from the books.  However, it is still enjoyed by viewers. Within the first week of its premiere, the TV series had about 3 million viewers and was already renewed for another season! Personally, it was exciting to see my favorite book series on television.  Despite the fact that the characters and plot have been altered slightly (which is of course, upsetting), I continue to watch Pretty Little Liars every Tuesday night.  It is great read and a great show!
