Brooklyn duo Matt and Kim have a reputation for producing upbeat, happy music, and they continue that trend with their latest album, “Sidewalks.” The album succeeds on numerous levels. Songs such as “AM/FM Sound” have the ability to get stuck in your head after one listen, much like past Matt and Kim hits “Daylight” and “Good Ol’ Fashion Nightmare.” What sets Matt and Kim apart from the rest is that not only are their songs fun to listen to, but they are memorable. No two songs sound the same. Songs to take note of include the urban beat “Cameras” and the melodic “Good for Great.” The album is a great release from Matt and Kim, and one of the best albums of the year. While listening to the album, it is obvious that Matt and Kim are having lots of fun, and you can’t help but sing along with them.
