Yet another season of spring sports begins on Monday, February 6th. With the new season starting up we get to look forward to boys golf, swim team, track and field, boys tennis, boys baseball, girls soccer and softball.  Although the official season begins on Monday many sports have already been training.

Girls soccer has been training since winter break having Wednesdays where they go up to the track and run. Bailey Chess, a junior, said that “The season should be great! but the Wednesdays are pretty awful having to run timed miles on top of whatever we have been doing in soccer P.E. We are going to be really prepared for the season since Mr. Morris has been pushing us.”

Boys tennis season and girls softball is starting on Monday too. They are both looking forward to a wonderful season.

Track has been working at the track to prepare for their up coming season. Baylor Hogan, a senior, said that, “This year we lost Coach Bum but we gained a new coach who is a great guy and knows a lot about track. He has definitely been pushing us in order to prepare us for the upcoming season.” Even though they haven't started practice yet, many track members have said that they have been sore after the first couple days of practice.

Baseball has been practicing for the new season for a while now. With the Varsity boys having a seventh period for baseball it makes it really convenient for them to get the most out of their practice time. They are all looking forward to another great season.

Boys golf also has its official start date on Monday. All of the boys on the team really love to golf so, many of them have been preparing for the season in their off time. Steven Ford, a junior, said that, “To make sure I’m ready for the upcoming season I go with Kyle Mayrand every couple of weekends to go hit a couple rounds at the Whitney golf course. We always have a fun time when we go.” Junior Alex Schaer hasn't been able to golf for the past couple of months due to having a fractured back. He is dissapointed that he is not going to be able to golf this season because of it, but he is hopeful about coaching for the high school boys team until he is able to golf again.

Swim team has been conditioning for the upcoming season for the past couple of weeks and many of the members are looking forward to the new season. A freshman Ryan Sharkey said that, “I think the swim team is really going to excel this year and I'm excited for the season to begin."
