The first of the two part full-length series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” which was originally released in theaters in November of 2010, was released on DVD and Blue Ray on April 15. This is the seventh of the eight movies that will be released in the Harry Potter series.
Part 1 reunites the movies original big stars, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, with some new faces, including Jamie Campbell Bower, Michael Byrne, ad Bill Nighy.
Directred by David Yates, the movie follows Harry Potter and his two best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger as they set out to destroy the evil Lord Voldemort once and for all. Instead of attending Hogwarts as they normally do, the three teenagers set out on a mission to find and destroy the Horcruxes, the keys to Voldemort’s immortality. The movie chronicles their quest and the dark forces that threaten to tear them apart along the way.
The film, which is rated PG-13 for some sequences of intense action violence, frightening images, and brief sensuality, was distributed worldwide in mid April by Warner Bros. Pictures.
The DVD includes additional scenes not shown in theaters; the Blue Ray and DVD extended edition include additional scenes, along with a sneak peek at the opening scenes of “Deathly Hallows part 2.”
