Last weekend, nearly 350 WCHS students and their dates attended prom at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset.
The theme for the event, which was held on Saturday, April 30, was Masquerade.
Those in attendance spent the night dancing and mingling. The 2011 prom king and queen were also crowned, with those honors going to seniors, Gavin Dunagan and Diamond Dick.
Freshman Andi Gregory who attended the prom for the first time with her sister, senior Susan Gregory, said she enjoyed the experience.
“Prom was very fun. The music was awesome, and everyone enjoyed dancing, “Gregory states. “It was the best night ever.”
This marked the first year, Principal Brian Dishman had attended prom as an administor. Dishman said the event was a success.
“We had a great time, and I think the students enjoyed themselves. There were no problems at prom. Everyone met the expectations required,” Dishman commented.
With prom in their rear view mirror, seniors now set their sights on graduation, which will be held in early June.
