The Muppets captivates the nation once again! - Evan Austin
Advertising

The Muppets are back and better than ever! It’s been several years, but Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy are back and have reunited one last time to prevent an evil oilman from tearing down the Muppet Theater. This movie will have audiences laughing from start to finish, just like the others.

The Muppets is directed by James Bobin. The stars of the movie are Amy Adams, Jason Segel, and Chris Cooper. The movie was made in 2011, and is rated PG in theaters. The Muppets will have the same fun characters as always, but this time, the main plot follows the muppets with the help of three of their fans to save their old theater from a greedy oil tycoon.

On vacation in Los Angelesm, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Segel) and Mary (Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the plan of oilman, Tex Richman (Cooper) to ruin the Muppet Theater and drill for oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage “The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever” and raise $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary, and Gary, help Kermit reunite the muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumber.

This was the first Muppets movie released in theaters since 2005, with the hopes that it would be a huge box office hit. It will most likely be the last Muppets movie made. This movie differs from the others because the characters had all moved on with their lives before the context of the movie, and the plot focused on reuniting them once again. The characters spend a majority of the movie getting to know each other and getting more comfortable with each other as the movie goes on.

If audiences have seen any of the past Muppets movies and liked them, they should go see this movie again. It is a funny, entertaining movie that people of all ages can enjoy. Muppets is a classic series of great movies, and I don’t think this one will be any different.
