The Indianola show choir put on a three-night performance for its ninth annual cabaret. The performances took place on Jan. 26-28 at St. Thomas Aquinas Pastoral Center.
“I was pretty nervous,” said Joe Krapfl, sophomore. “I have always looked forward to performing at the cabaret.”
The three-hour show included performances from Indianola’s three show choir groups, SideWAYZ, Flip Side and Side One as well as small groups and solos.
The show includes numerous performances as a whole as well as some spotlight solos. Some of the spotlights included music and humor as well. Senior Zack Jones sang “Somewhere Only We Know,” and senior Drew Peeler sang “Blackbird.”
A men’s group performed “Men in Tights” and the night even included skits from Saturday Night Live.
Krapfl, currently a member of Side One, and performed in Flip Side last year, was seen in multiple spotlights and performs as a nerdy boy wanting to join the “Brotherhood of Man” in Side One’s show.
The show choir parents also catered a meal for the audience.
The show choirs perform next at the Indianola Show Choir Encounter on Feb. 18 where they will host more than 20 show choirs and 40 jazz bands.
