High school is the time when students start to grow up and mature. However, it is also about having fun and being with friends. When senior year arrives it is time to live it up and just hang out… and fill out resumes for college applications. Most of the time it is difficult for students to recall everything they have for homework that night, much less the accomplishments they have done over the past four years. This is why it is very important to keep a high school scrapbook, or a book of awards, volunteer hours, accomplishments, clubs, and other things that they have been involved in during their high school career. It is even more imperative to start keeping track of a high school scrapbook early. It is not difficult; all one has to do is keep records of what they did, for example, if one is going to a club induction, it would be good advice to keep any documents given to them that night welcoming them into the club or possibly take pictures of the event and for them to file this information away until needed for college applications and resumes. Students must understand to fill up their applications, but not over-fill them. It almost makes a student seem conceded to an admissions board professor to have a ten page long resume to look over. With all the other resumes they have to look through, the most important thing for students to remember is to make sure there is something in the resume that jumps out and makes the admissions office look back to that resume. After all, the saying is quality not quantity. High school scrap books do not have to be limited only to high school, middle school can count too. Also, never play anything down, any kind of award will look impressive. Awards and other things do not have to be solely limited to school activities, outside of school activities are eligible too. It is so important to save everything while one can because it is very easy for he or she to get behind and maybe even loose or forget to place something very important on a resume. In the end, by saving all of ones accomplishments, it makes filling out application a lot more effortless and straightforward. It takes a lot less time when all the information one needs it right in front of him or her.
