America needs to grow up; this has come to the attention of many, since a certain Super Bowl incident involved the exposure of a certain celebrity’s breast. America has squeezed censorship in order to better suit those who felt violated by the .5 second footage.

Some citizens have taken it so far as to take up a suit against the star, MTV, and CBS for billions of dollars in compensatory and punitive damages.

Terri Carlin, the Tennessee banker that began the action suit, alleged “that she and others who watched the show during the Super Bowl were injured by the performers’ lewd actions when Timberlake tore part of Jackson’s costume, exposing her right breast.” said TheStar.com.

The suit was dropped a week after it was filed, Terri saying, “I made my point.”

Incidents like this further other countries’ poor views of Americans.

The Canadian network broadcasting the Super Bowl received one phone call forging a complaint, while the American backlash was far worse, the incident sending conservative groups racing towards Washington to make a stand towards stronger censorship.

Janet Jackson’s supposed exposure caused an even larger worldwide net search than post 9-11.

To be blunt, it was a breast that outdid one of the darkest days in American history and for that, citizens should take note of their own nature.

In retro-spect to other countries, the U.S. has one of the highest amounts of censorship for both national and cable televisions.

Continuous censorship only fuels such immature reactions. It is true that limits should be set, but then again, the degree to which this was taken is ridiculous.

America, being a world leader should acknowledge that their way is not always the best, and conform.
